This post is not a summary of these two events, it is about the fact that we learn the most when we are challenged the most. Mark 6:30-44 contains the story of Jesus feeding 5,000 men who had come to hear Jesus' teaching, and the women and children who accompanied them. Jesus' disciples came to him and said that the people needed to be sent away to get food. Always remember that the Bible was written nearly 2,000 years ago, there was no way that 5,000 + people could be fed rapidly. There was no fast food, no restaurants or any of the food supply mechanisms which are normal to our day. Jesus completely dumbfounded the disciples by responding in Mark 6:37 "But he answered, 'You give them something to eat.' They said to him, 'That would take more than half a year’s wages !
